Project Specifics

Gold Corp’s Peñasquito Mine is located in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico. The Mine produces Gold, Silver, Lead, and Zinc with 2017 Gold extraction meeting 476,000 Ounces. The Pyrite Leach Project of Peñasquito will increase recovery rates of up to 48% by processing existing tailings prior to final deposit. The overall project is estimated to cost $420 Million and be completed by 2021.

Sonic Enclosures was contracted by Sepro Mineral Systems to design and manufacture the E-House and Brake Resistor Skid portion of this project. The E-House will be part of the Post Cleaner Substation for the Pyrite Leach Project and was one of the heaviest single buildings Sonic has ever produced.

In-spite of several project challenges which created schedule risk, Sonic’s reliability and commitment to our clients’ success ensured that the project was delivered on-time and on budget.
